More than 180 recipes from New Zealand’s leading chefs and food writers. The RNZ Cookbook has been named the best-designed and illustrated cookbook of the last year at the at the 2023 PANZ Book Design Awards.

The book was designed by Kate Barraclough with illustrations by Pippa Keel. Judges said the design of David’s book successfully takes the approach that “less is more and aims to strike a balance between contemporary and classic”. The typography is “both highly considered and really usable—sophisticated and accessible at the same time”.

Earlier this year, The RNZ Cookbook also won the special award for New Zealand food works at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. It was the only locally published cookery work to make the global list.
